At Equipoise, we specialise in mediation services aimed at resolving Private Wealth conflicts and disputes through peaceful and collaborative means.
Our principal mediator Daniel Winter is a solicitor with over 20 years' experience in dealing with the full ambit of Private Wealth disputes, in the process building and leading one of the South-East's largest and most well-regarded contentious trusts and probate solicitor teams serving both regional and international clients, and receiving annual Legal 500 recognition. Daniel is a Certified Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialist with ACTAPS, the recognised association of legal specialists in this complex area of law.

What We Offer
Equipoise Private Wealth Mediation's services cover the full range of private wealth disputes, including will validity disputes, probate conflicts, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, disagreements between executors and beneficiaries, disputes concerning trusts, co-ownership conflicts including the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996, and more.
We provide a neutral and supportive environment where parties can express their concerns, explore solutions, and reach peaceful resolutions. Our approach to mediation is to be curious, sensitive, empathetic, confident, calm, thorough, prepared, knowledgeable, positive, energetic and above all, balanced and fair.

Will Disputes
Our will dispute mediation service includes resolving conflicts surrounding the validity of the will including issues regarding testamentary capacity, want of knowledge and approval, undue influence and fraud.
Such disputes are often within families, and frequently involve sensitive subjects about loved ones who are no longer with us.
Claims under Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
Our mediation service addresses conflicts concerning claims for reasonable financial provision under the 1975 Act. Such disputes may include issues such as domicile and eligibility to claim in addition to the factors to which regard must be given under section 3 of the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, and quantum.

These disputes often carry a high degree of emotional weight and include a complex factual matrix to which significant importance is placed by participants.

The following rates apply for all disputes involving 2 parties and valued up to £2m inclusive of additional claims and counterclaims.

For in-person mediations, venue provision/hire is not included and is for the parties to provide.
